I am from Valley Stream, NY and served with Al in the Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department for a few years. I also went to elementary school with his wife JoAnn Tesauro. They're both wonderful people. JoAnn, I'm very sorry for your loss. Al had a very successful career in public service and shall be missed by all who he touched.

Al was a trainer, a mentor, a supervisor, and most importantly a good friend to me. Our paths crossed several times throughout our careers, but the greatest impact Al had on me and everyone he came in contact with, was his unconditional friendship. Rest easy and pain free my friend. Until we meet again.....

Al was a supervisor to me for a period of time at the Sheriff’s Office. Al became a mentor soon after encouraging me to always aspire to the next level in my career to include joining the ERT as first female deputy. Al quickly found a place in my life as a friend. Al opened his family to my daughter and I. The more I got to know him the more I found he was a man of honor, integrity, professionalism, faith and passion for everything and everyone in his life most specifically his family. I will miss your words of encouragement, your support through some tough times and your friendship. Be in peace we will take it from here.

Al is one of the reasons I'm still alive today. His unwavering strength, support and love will forever be etched in my memories and into my heart and soul. He taught me how to drive like a professional, to be a good cop, a good friend and a better person. I loved him like family and his loss is a significant one in my life. I thank God that he is no longer in pain or suffering. He's now serving God and taking care of any emergencies up there. My condolences to JoAnn, Izzy, Rebecca & Sara. Du out of you want, I'll always be here for you, like Al was always there for me. Rest in paradise Al, I love you and will miss you. 10-98 10-42
