It is time for me to speak out re my Baby Sister, Betty Lou. We were the proud daughters of Charlie Elbert Stepp and Allene Corn Stepp. Dad died in 1979 and our Mom died in 2014. We knew we had the best parents that God could give us and they helped to make us who we are today. Even tho my sister was born with her deafness...not total...and a medical condition with her heart and being born weighing in at 4 lbs, she overcame so many of those issues because she was always a fighter, loved her Lord, her family and friends..We really loved each other and if I can be just 1% as good and brave as she, then I will be doing great. If she can hear me now, I promise to make her proud as long as my journey lasts. She may have been small and had small feet, but she has left such big shoes for us to fill. Thank you Gene Ray for being the best thing in her life. Your devotion as husband and often caregiver will give you many crowns..We love you and we will miss her greatly. She will always be my special Baby Sister.

Betty Lou was a very interesting person to have as an aunt. It was so much fun whenever she got a new car, because she wanted you to listen to the radio. If she had some of her deaf friends over, it was curious to watch them talk, since she never taught us sign language.
