William Kenneth ìBillî Dryman, Sr., 83, of Hendersonville, went to meet his best friend of 61 years, Christine, Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the Laurels of Hendersonville. He was the son of the late John Baptist and Ruby Fowler Dryman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Christine Lee Dryman who died in 2012; a son, Johnny Byron Dryman who died in 2014; and a daughter-in-law, Gail Dryman who died in 2006.
Bill retired from G.E. after 29 years, and was the owner and operator of Bill Dryman & Sons Family Tire since 1971. He was a Navy Airman Chief Petty Officer and served with the P2V Squadron during the Korean War. He loved to sing, and loved his dogs, Max, Dolly, and Lady who were his constant companions.
He is survived by three sons, Kenny Dryman and his wife Angie of Hendersonville, Terry Dryman and Becky of Hendersonville, and Michael Dryman and his wife Sasha of Huntersville; seven grandchildren, Donald (who Bill raised) and his wife Misty, Joby, Chuck, Dustin, Felicia, Connor, and Colton; nine great-grandchildren, Cecilee, Alexis, Brayden, Kynden, Jack, Ryan, Luke, Kaitlyn, and Kasey; brother-in-law, Garry Bleeker and his wife Carolyn of Garrens Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 3pm Sunday, August 2, 2015 in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Samuel Cox will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military honors. Mr. Dryman will lie in state from 10-1pm Sunday in the chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 1-3pm in the chapel.
