William “Bill” Henry Onuska, Sr., 90, of Hendersonville went to sleep in Jesus Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in his home, with family at his side. From birth in Midland, PA, on March 13, 1927 to his death he was loyal, faithful, patriotic, and a friend to all. He was the youngest of eight children, born to the late George and Mary Frances (Danko) Onuska. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Andy, George, Paul, John, Joe, James, and his sister Ethel Kollar.
Bill proudly enlisted as a Navy Seabee during WWII. He retired from Montgomery Ward after thirty-one years of service. Bill and Carol enjoyed traveling the world together, as well as spending time with family and friends. Bill’s interests included being a private pilot, a ham radio operator, astronomy, carpentry, Pathfinders, and watching NASA flights.
He is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-seven years, Carol; sons and daughters, William Henry, Jr. (Jaya), James David (Joyce), Pam Onuska-Hicks (Gary), Kevin Richard Hirsch, and Carol Michelle Personius (George); seven grandchildren, Christopher William Lang, Ellie Ann (Lang) Welsh, Jairon George Personius, Chantel Michelle Personius, and Caiden Christopher Personius, Sunny William Onuska, Johnny William Onuska; three great-grandchildren, Damon Christopher Lang, Nicholas Michael Welsh, and Tyler Matthew Welsh; and many nieces and nephews.
