William Donald Rhodes, 79, a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, passed away Monday, November 14, 2011 at Pardee Memorial Hospital. Born April 2, 1932, he was the youngest son of the late Albert Buford and Dollie Davidson Rhodes. He was a local contractor in Henderson County his entire life. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Albert Rhodes, Rev. Willard Rhodes, and a sister, Annie Morrison. He will be remembered and greatly missed by each of us.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Barbara Rhodes; four children, Shirley Rhodes, Donna Geouge, Leon Rhodes, and Michael Rhodes; three grandchildren, Bradley Rhodes, Matthew Geouge, Brent Rhodes; three great grandchildren, Caselyn Rhodes, Braeden Rhodes, Brenlee Rhodes; three sisters, Christine Rhodes, Dorothy Justus, Wilsie Davis; and a brother, Rev. Darrell Rhodes.
A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Thursday in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Garren will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service in the chapel.
