Walter Sprouse, Jr.

July 23, 1941 - September 12, 2011

Walter F. Sprouse, 70, of Flat Rock, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, September 12, 2011, at the Elizabeth House. He was the son of Walter F. Sprouse, Sr. and Maggie Mae Sprouse. He was a self-employed carpenter for the past 40 years. He was a member of Tracy Grove Baptist Church and loved everyone there. He took part in anything going on when health issues permitted.

He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Mary; his two daughters, Denise Watts of Campobello, SC, Page Pettit and her husband, Mark, of Cowpens, SC; one son, Kevin Sprouse and his wife, Leslie, of Boiling Springs, SC; two stepdaughters, Tina Street and her husband Ken, of Hendersonville, and Terri Heatherly and her husband James, of Etowah; eight grandsons; one granddaughter; one brother, Clary Sprouse and his wife, Martha, of Spartanburg, SC; and his loving companion ìZoeyî.

A funeral will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 16, 2011, at Tracy Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. James Maybin and Harold Connor officiating. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm at the church. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Tracy Grove Baptist Church, 984 Tracy Grove Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731 or Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
