Vance R. Hoots

August 17, 1933 - December 8, 2018

Vance R. Hoots, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at his home. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Reginald and Lillian Enloe Hoots. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jean Lamb.

A graduate of Edneyville High School, he and his wife owned and operated Hendersonville Nursery and Garden Center for 53 years. He was member of Refuge Baptist Church and loved being involved in the church. Vance loved to garden and was a member of the Rotary Club. He loved his family greatly and always looked forward to vacationing with them. Vance was very appreciative of every customer he ever had and loved two very important days each year, the day he opened the business each year and the day he closed it down to prepare for his vacation.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jewelle; daughter, Cassandra Tabor (David); grandchildren, Christy Corn (Rod), Vikki Albertson and Eric Noblett (Sabrina); great-grandchildren, Grant and Joshua Corn, Jewelleann Albertson, Caden and Oakley Noblett; sisters, Margaret McCall, Clara Johnson, Doris Justus and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, December 13, 2018 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 1-2pm.
