TROY THOMAS ìPOPî BRADLEY, 71, of Asheville, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Memorial Mission Hospital after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Vernon and Emma Bradley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Annette Owenby, and a brother, Alvin Bradley.

He was a mechanic with Ryder Truck Rental for 26 years. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and going camping.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Helen L. Bradley; one son, Troy T. Bradley, Jr. of Hendersonville; two daughters, Teresa Medd and her husband Steve of Hendersonville, Doris Kitchen of Asheville; four sisters, Belva Greene, Elsie Ponders, Joyce Bradley and her husband Gary, Josie Thomas and her husband Bruce; three brothers, Carmen Bradley and his wife Hazel, Donald Bradley, Ronald Bradley and his wife Pat; his mother-in-law, Ruby Angel of Weaverville; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and 33 nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday at Mountain Home Baptist Church on Gilliam Mtn. Road, with the Revs. Troy T. Bradley, III and Donald Hare officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm prior to the service in the church.
