Tony Jackson

December 9, 1954 - November 17, 2010

Tony Carroll Jackson, 55, of Hendersonville began the next chapter of his journey on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at his home. A lifelong resident of Hendersonville, he was a son of Fay Stepp Jackson and the late Carroll C. Jackson. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hilliard B. Stepp and Grayson and Effie Jackson.

Tony was a 1973 East Henderson High School graduate. He had an avid love for music, especially classic rock and played a variety of instruments throughout his life. His love for all animals was almost as strong as his love for children. He thoroughly enjoyed playing Santa Claus each Christmas and bringing joy to all the children. He truly loved all of his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Eugenia McElrath Jackson (Dinkie); grandmother, Mary Ann Stepp; sister, Judy Jackson Penley and husband, Dale; sister, Cathy Jackson; brother, Troy Jackson and wife, Tiffany; nieces; Tollie Schultz and Michala Jackson; nephews, Troy and Tyler Jackson; father and mother-in-law, Allen and Cecilia McElrath; sister-in-law, Donna Schultz and husband, Tony; brother-in-law, Jason and Patrick McElrath; six godchildren; a number of pets; and many, many friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2010 in the Chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The Reverend Dwayne Durham will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3 PM prior to the service in the chapel.
