Sola Mae Pack, 90, of Horse Shoe, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Golden Living Center following a period of declining health. A native who lived most of her life in Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Fadalia Osteen Hill and beloved wife of John W. Pack who died in 2004. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Mendess and Mack Hill, both of Dana.
She was a member of Shawís Creek Baptist Church and loved church ministries and sharing her faith and the love of Christ with many people. She also loved gardening and was a loving and caring wife and mother.
Mrs. Pack is survived by two children, Anita Jacqueline Pack Buckley and her husband Robert Douglas Buckley of Horse Shoe and Larry Gene Pack and his wife Leatha of Murrels Inlet, SC; a sister, Joyce Pace of Dana and two brothers, Ray Hill of Dana and William Robert Hill of Maryland.
A funeral will be held 11:00 am Monday, October 31, at the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Rev. W.W. (Bill) Carpenter, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Sunday, October 30, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
