Mike, Bev and Kathy: There are no words to express the loss of your mother and my friend. She was loved and she loved you guys more than you'll ever know.

Shirley was like my second mom growing up. I loved her very much. Bev, Mike and Kathy I'm thinking of all of you.

When I worked for the 911 center for a short time about 9 years ago, Shirley was my "trainer". She was a delightful person who always had a kind and encouraging word to say. Jay & I will miss her sweet spirit. She was one of those people who made positive impact on the world around her. May the family find comfort in the many good memories you have in your heart. May the Lord reach down with His loving arms and surround you with His peace. Even though we are unable to attend the service, we are with you in spirit.

I had the pleasure of working with Shirley while I was the Director of Henderson County E911 Center from 1994 until 2006. Shirley was a very loving and caring person both at her job and has a person. I grew to know Shirley most by working with her. She was a true professional at her job especially dealing with the public and processing numerous calls for service. While she was employed with the Sheriffís Office she was given the nickname ìMawî because she was everyoneís Maw she always showed interest and loving care to her co-workers. She answered all the Law Enforcement, Fire & EMS units out in the field with the same loving care. If she saw you without a smile, she would ask if everything was ok. She always knew the right word for the right moment to cheer you up no matter how stressful our job became. After my departure from the E911 Center in 2007 I kept in touch with ìMawî either by telephone, seeing each other in the grocery store, or her very delightful Christian felt Emailís that she would send me. I have kept the best ones, and from time to time I resort back to those for a inspiration boost. So the Lord has told Shirley to come on home your job is done I do believe she is on the computer right now sending Emailís well maybe Heart mails to everyone she loves that she is doing fine and just waiting on her family and friends to meet with her very soon. To her family our God is a very loving God and he is in control of our lives, I pray that God touches your entire family with his Love and Blessings.

We're so glad we met her and was able to go to dinner with her and George.Even with working with law Enforcement Shirley never judged people by their past.We hope the family can find comfort in her memories.

I have had the pleasure of working with Shirley for over 30 years. She has been my trainer, role model, advisor, and friend. Although Shirley was a 'mom' to everyone, her children, Bev, Mike and Kathy were her world. She talked about you guys all the time, and it was the same thing when she became a grandmother. She was so proud of you all. And to George, Shirley talked about you too. She said that when you sang to her, her heart just melted. Shirley set high standards for telecommunicators in the field of law enforcement dispatching. She has trained numerous people over the years and her legacy in this field will live on. We will miss you "Maw"...

I worked with Shirley aka Maw at the Sheriffs Department for many years. I came to the department 13yrs ago and Maw was my trainer. She took me under her wing and I was like one of her kids. She was everyones mom at work. She was always giving advise about everything. Maw was my supervisor for many years. She was a true role model. She will be missed dearly. To the whole family you are in my thoughts and prayers during this tough time but just remember God has plans for everyone and as long as we have him in our lives then we have nothing to worry about.
