Sharon Rose Henderson, 77, of Mills River went home to be with the Lord and family members who passed before her on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at her residence after suffering a heart attack. A native of Indiana, she had resided in Henderson County for the past 33 years. She was a daughter of the late Glenn and Lucille Hanner and was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Hanner; sister, Donna Hanner; sisters-in-law, Patricia Hanner and Alverta Plyer and grandson, Jeremy Henderson.
Sharon was of the Christian faith and was employed as a home health nurse for 30 years prior to retiring. She loved family gatherings and would always say, “if you leave hungry, it’s your own fault.” Sharon never met a stranger, possessed a big heart, and took many children off of the streets to raise. She loved looking for treasures, especially jewelry, at Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity thrift stores. Above everything else, Sharon loved her family immensely and always put others before herself.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, George “Bud” Henderson; children, Stephen Henderson, Sherry Heston (Kerry) and Deborah Clem-McCracken (Harold Swayngim); grandchildren, Steve, Angela, Curtis, Katrina and Kevin; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Terry Hanner (Jane); mother-in-law, Delores Henderson and many extended family.
Per Sharon’s request, no service will be held. She requested that everyone please go out to eat and enjoy time with their families and have a moment of silence to remember her and others who passed before her.

Our deepest sympathies to you Debbie and all your family. I was so happy to at least meet your mom on the phone and had hoped to meet her in person. I may do that soon. Our love to you, Dick and Sibyl
