Sarah N. Ellis, 87, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Fleshers of Fairview following a period of declining health. A native of Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Maggie Crisp. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon Ellis in 2014; sister, Helen Steele; brother, Bud Crisp and granddaughter, Kristen Ellis.  Sarah had resided in Henderson County for over 30 years.

She loved gardening her flowers and spending time with children of all ages. She enjoyed cooking for others and was a great cook. Sarah had a great love for animals, especially her dogs and birds. She loved her family deeply and always cherished the time she was able to spend with them.

Sarah is survived by her son, Jerry Ellis and his wife, Doreen; son, Richard Ellis and his wife, Valerie; daughter, Tamara Hyder and her husband, Wayne; son, Jeffrey Ellis and his wife, Joan; grandchildren, Jennifer Ward, Amanda Justus, Emily Ellis, Kellie Ellis and Jason Hyder; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

 “It is finished. Shortly after the sun peeked through the heavy clouds, we saw her breathing stop. Peaceful and surrounded by love, she got the welcome home she deserved. Relief in her struggle being over. Tears for the loss of a precious woman so dear to us.”

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Craig Stepp officiating. Music will be provided by Ranee’ Stepp and Dave Mains.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sarah’s honor may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life. 581 S. Allen Rd. Flat Rock, NC 28731.
