Ruth N. Hyder, 89, of Hendersonville started celebrating her new life in heaven on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at her residence following a brief illness. She lived for a period in Ft. Lauderdale, FL before returning to Henderson County in 1978. Ruth was a daughter of the late Jessie Austin Newman and Nelor Jane Corn Newman Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. Hampton Hyder, Jr.; her sister, Elizabeth Nelson; brother, Douglas Newman; and sister-in-law, Kay Elizabeth Miller.
Ruth was the co-owner of J.H. Hyder Trucking and Hyder paving. She was a member of Living Water Church and loved spending time with her family. She cherished being a second mom to her sister’s children and she was genuinely pleasant to everyone she met.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Hampton Hyder (Tammy); daughter, Theresa Case; grandchildren, Amanda Justus (Michael), Jason Hyder (Kathy), Tara Eldridge (Justin); great-grandchildren, Hannah Browning, Alexis Hyder, Alayna Justus, and Jacob Hampton Hyder; brothers, Gary Newman (Pam), Edward Newman (Desiree) and Larry Eugene Miller; nephews, Jeffrey Nelson, Randy Nelson, Michael Eugene Miller and Daniel Miller; nieces, Renee Nelson, Sherry Miller and Christine Miller; and numerous other extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with her daughter, Theresa officiating.
