Ron, You were the light that shined so brightly in this community. When someone needed help, you were always there. With that, we say, "Thank you, Ron for all of the many things you did to help our family since we moved to North Carolina, 4 years ago." Our prayers go out to Ron's family. I just wanted to express my condolences to Mr. Corn's family. He has been our neighbor for over 10 yrs and he was a great man. Kind and caring and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He would go by and see me push mowing my grass and come cut it and would never let us give him any gas money. And he would fix our driveway when it got bad. He was always kind to us and a good friend and we will miss him dearly.

Dad, I love you more than words could ever express. I cannot wait to be reunited with you in heaven. I look forward to dancing with you on streets of gold, knowing that you will never grow tired or be in any pain. But until then, you will be in my thoughts everday. Thank you for being such a wonderful and caring father, papaw, friend, neighbor, and brother. Anyone who knew you was blessed indeed. Mr. Corn was one of the best neighbors I have had the pleasure of knowing. I resided on Poplar Dr. from Aug 2008-Dec 2010. Our first day there, Mr. Corn came riding through our lawn on his scooter to introduce himself and we thought that was rude because we just came from California where a persons lawn is sacred. :O) We soon would get used to this and even grow to love him. He held that neighborhood together with his helping hand. He was always helping even when he thought no one was looking. I know my old neighborhood will never be the same...who will trim trees and burn the pile of branches, scrape the road after a snow storm, till up a garden for neighborhood use, or ride from house to house just to say hi? Mr. Corn, I really appreciated you as a neighbor and know that East and West Poplar just won't be the same without you.

Jeff and I couldn't ask for a better neighbor and friend than Ron. He made our neighborhood what is it and had the knack of making everyone feel at home. He and I worked closely on our community trash system. He never failed to make me laugh or smile. Ron, you may be gone from our sight, but never from our memory.God Bless, Alan

I was in the Ingles last Friday night when Ronald's sister, Donnie, whom I had never met before Friday, got the news of her brother's death. She was so clearly distraught. She asked me to pray for Ronald, and I want to assure her that I have been doing so, for Ronald and his family, and for Donnie herself and all family members. May God hold all of you in His tender loving care.
