Robert M. Farnum, 84, went to his eternal home Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at the Elizabeth House.
He was born in Niles, MI, to the late Eugene F. and Anna C. Stevens Farnum. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He moved to Hendersonville in 1975 and retired from IMOCO in Fletcher. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Doris Capps Farnum; one daughter, Verena Johnson of Flat Rock; five sons, David Bradley of Davie, FL, Dale Bradley of Rock Hill, SC, Bruce Farnum of Travelers Rest, SC, Gary Bayne of Johnson City, TN and Steven Bayne of Etowah; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 Saturday, October 24, 2009 with Rev. Chuck Evans officiating. Military honors will be presented by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes VFW Post 5206 and DAV Chapter 14. No formal visitation is planned. Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S.
