Rev. Kenneth Arnold "Kenny" Corn

July 14, 1952 - June 12, 2020

Reverend Kenneth Arnold “Kenny” Corn, 67, of East Flat Rock, NC died with his loving family by his side early Friday morning, June 12, 2020, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.

Rev. Corn was born in Hendersonville, NC on Monday, July 14, 1952, to the late Arnold E. and Laura (Evans) Corn.  On January 24, 1987, in Hendersonville, he married his loving wife of 33 years, the former Ginger Hinton who survives.  In addition to his wife, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his two devoted sons, Tyler K. Corn and his wife, Lauren of Charlotte, NC, and Dawson B. Corn of Greenville, SC.  Also surviving is his 16-month-old grandson, Lucas; two sisters, Gail Rhodes and Becky Banks both of Hendersonville, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Corn was a 1970 graduate of Hendersonville High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.  He was a minister of the gospel in several churches throughout the years, most recently Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville, and had devoted many years as a professor at Fruitland Baptist Bible College.

Funeral services to celebrate Rev. Corn’s life will be two o’clock Tuesday afternoon, June 16, 2020, with Rev. Steve Scoggins and the Rev. Jerry Hyder officiating at First Baptist Church, 312 Fifth Avenue, Hendersonville, NC, 28739.  The family will receive guests that afternoon in the church sanctuary from 1:00 to 1:45 pm. with burial to follow in the historic Oakdale Cemetery in Hendersonville, NC.

Memorial contributions may be offered on behalf of Rev. Corn to Fruitland Baptist Bible College, 1455 Gilliam Road, Hendersonville, NC, 28792 or to Impact Charlotte, a campus ministry at UNC Charlotte, Post Office Box #1406 Harrisburg, NC, 28075.

Kenny was a humble, caring, and gifted servant and will be forever missed by his loving and devoted wife, sons, family, and many dear friends.
