May 12, 1953 - February 25, 2020

Rachel B. Woodard, 66, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Mission Hospital following a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late A.W. and Darlene Wilson. Rachel was a graduate of East Henderson High School and was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church.

She was employed by Ball Glass Container Group for 23 years until their closing and was then employed by Wilsonart for over 20 years. Rachel was a member and past secretary of the VFW Auxiliary #5206 and American Legion Auxiliary #77. She enjoyed flower gardening and working in her yard. Rachel loved listening to live music, especially beach music. She had a heart for helping others in any way she could.

She is survived by her brothers, Jimmie Brevard and Russ Wilson; aunts, Bessie Bright and Nancy Laughter; special cousins, Steve and Ben Laughter; numerous other cousins and special friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, March 2, 2020 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Scoggins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2pm in the chapel prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a gathering for friends and family on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the home of Russ Wilson from 5-8 pm.
