Phyllis Mabry Capps

September 13, 1934 - February 12, 2018

Phyllis Mabry Capps, 83, of Flat Rock went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 12, 2018 following a period of declining health. The daughter of the late Russell and Mae Mabry, she was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Haley Marie Capps. She was a graduate of Hendersonville High and went on to attend Limestone College, where she majored in home economics.

Phyllis was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church and was a past Matron and former Canadian Ambassador for the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge and spending time at Lake Summit with her family. She was devoted to reading and studying her Bible on a daily basis.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John L. Capps, Jr; sons, John Barry Capps and his wife Christina of East Flat Rock, Todd Lee Capps and his wife Ronda of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Sela, Cameron and Nolan Capps.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Jason Kittrell officiating.
