Odie Mack Gordon, 82, of Zirconia passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at his home following an extended illness. He was a native of Greenville, SC and had lived in Henderson County most of his life. He was a son of the late Bunyon and Dora Bell Russell Gordon. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda F. Sellers Gordon in 2011; three brothers, JD, OB and Bill Gordon; and three sisters, Dulcie Pearson, Lola Henderson and Clessie Pack.
Odie served in the US Army during the Korean War and he was employed by GE for twenty-seven years. He was a member of Mill Spring VFW, Saluda Masonic Lodge, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by one son, Brent Gordon and his wife Heather of Travelers Rest, SC; Odie’s Angel, McKayla Galtieri of Hendersonville; two grandchildren, Tim Nix and Amy Hannon; one brother, Alvin Gordon and his wife Ruby of Travelers Rest, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Hunnicutt officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1pm in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
