Norma Davis Shipman, 76, of Flat Rock went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Davis and Mary Sue Pace. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Shipman, who died in 2005, and her step-father, L.D. Pace.

Norma was employed for 30 years as the Assistant Clerk of Superior Court for Henderson County before retiring. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and she and her husband, Larry used to enjoy spending time at church and at singings when she wasn’t working. Norma enjoyed eating out with her friends from the courthouse and enjoyed cooking and socializing with friends and family at the Saluda Truck Stop. She was a great wife, sister and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Pace Nix and her husband, Dennis, Annette Davis Crook and her husband, Mike, Yvonne Singleton and Linda Barnes and her husband, Jerry; brother, Brisco Davis and his wife, Candy; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, November 25, 2018 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Reverend Curtis Pace officiating. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service in the chapel.
