Minnie Belle Tapley Galloway, 83, of Etowah passed away Monday, 19 October 2015 at the Brian Center of Laurel Park after a lengthy illness.
She was born 14 June 1932 in Bartow, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Aulton and Vassie Mae Hall Tapley and also by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Clyde Calvin (Tuffy) Galloway and one grandson.
Mrs. Galloway was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served as a missionary and a teacher. She was an avid genealogist. Other interests included working through the American Red Cross with disaster relief and she spearheaded efforts in starting up bone marrow transplant lists in the early 1990’s.
She never met a stranger and had a beautiful smile for everyone. People who knew her loved her and walked away feeling loved.
Survivors include her children Marsha Anderson (Chuck) of Cary, NC, Vicki Galloway (Marge) of Etowah, NC, Susan Finch (Greg) of Mills River, NC and Jeremy Galloway (Jana) of Chandler, AZ ; nine grandchildren and six great-grandsons. She also leaves behind three brothers: Sollie (LaRose), John and Jeff (Vivian) and many nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends.
A funeral will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2005 Brevard Highway in Laurel Park. Bishop Adam Carey will be officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at 331 School House Road in Etowah, NC.
