Michael William Fortner, 55, of Hendersonville passed away on March 16, 2019.  He was born in Asheville on January 3,1964 to Bennie and the late Brandon Smith Fortner.  He is also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Harold Blackwell. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon Blackwell Fortner; his children, Philip Fortner (Erica) , Summer Wilson (Caleb), and Autumn Harwood (Dyrryk Murgolo); his father; his brother, Boyce Fortner (Pam); grandchildren, Marcella, Naveah, Brian, Kade, Charleigh, and Olyver; mother-in-law, Brenda Blackwell; sisters-in-law Sandra Roberts (Rick), Linda Gifford (Adam Sanmiguel), and Rose Burns (Jeffrey); lifelong buddies Bruce Stanley and Don Coffee (Wanda); and many nieces and nephews. 

He loved to hunt, fish, and be with his grandkids.  This NASCAR fan took pride in doing tile, he loved people and to be of help.  He was a great Dad and he worked at Eaton for 24 years.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, March 23 at 2pm, with a visitation an hour prior. The service will be officiated by Pastor Rob Cuevas. Join the family at 4pm in the Fellowship Hall at Balfour Baptist, 2502 Asheville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC 28791.
