Margaret Parker-Williams

November 8, 1930 - July 21, 2020

Margaret Ellewese Parker Williams, 89, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at The Laurels of Green Tree Ridge in Asheville, NC, after a period of declining health. Margaret was born in Tryon, NC, to the late Melvin Parker and Emma Griffin-Parker. She is also preceded in death by her late husband of fifty-six years, Walter A. Williams; sisters, Ruth Parker, and Betty Parker-Spencer; brothers, Clarence, Paul, Glen, James, and Kenneth Parker.

Margaret graduated from Saluda High School; she was of the Pentecostal faith. Expert seamstress was the title Margaret rightfully earned as she was known for her astonishing work; she loved making quilts, crocheting and knitting. She gave away more things that she had made than she could even possibly remember.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Doug Williams of Townville, SC and Roger Williams (Gretchen) of Zirconia, NC; a brother, Leander Parker of East Flat Rock, NC; grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Jeremy Williams and Evan Williams; six great grandchildren; and several cousins, nephews and nieces all of whom she loved dearly.

In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations can be made in Margaret’s name to a charity of individual choice.

A graveside will be held eleven o’clock Saturday morning, July 25, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Pastor Ken Mason and Pastor James Shields will be officiating.
