Marcie Silcox, 75, of Mills River went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at The Lodge at Mills River following a period of declining health. A native of West Virginia, she had resided in Henderson County for the past 47 years. She was a daughter of the late Vester and Anna May Handshoe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Silcox; daughter, JoAnn Hockett, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Marcie was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church and was employed as a seamstress for many years. She was very grounded in the Lord and tried to lead as many as she could to him. Marcie loved crafting and giving to others. Her family brought her great joy and she cherished the time spent with them. She was a precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Clarissa Parris and her husband, Roger; son, Lacy Silcox and his wife, Natasha; grandchildren, Jason Hockett, Roger Parris, Courtney Silcox, Lacey Marie Silcox and Bo Gracion Silcox; great-grandchildren, Landon Parris, Caroline Parris, Kenzie Ponder, Logan Ponder, Mason Ponder and Hadley Pierson; sister, Garnett Silcox; son-in-law, Howard Hockett and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Carroll Poole officiating.
