Lorraine Elizabeth Mixon

May 8, 1940 - May 12, 2019

Lorraine E. Mixon, 79, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Elizabeth House following a brief period of declining health. A native of Madison County, she had resided in Henderson County most of her life. Lorraine was a daughter of the late Verland and Lillie Wyatt. She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry Lee Mixon, who died in 2010.

Lorraine spent her working career as a talented seamstress and was a longtime member of Upward Christian Fellowship. She had a passion for volunteering, especially anything for her church. She loved her family dearly and cherished the time she was able to spend with them. Cooking Sunday dinners for the entire family brought her great joy.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia Kelly and Linda Kay Call; son, Henry Lee Mixon, Jr.; grandchildren, Misty Pittman, Christopher Stepp, Amber Kelly and Jamie Kelly; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; sisters, Geraldine, Marie, Cleo, Faye, Mary, Jewel, Rhonda and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Upward Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Andy Craver officiating. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service from 1:30-2:30 pm at the church. Entombment will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
