Lois Parris Cody, 83, of Hendersonville went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Pardee Memorial Hospital after a brief period of declining health. She was a native of Bryson City and had lived most of her life in Asheville, moving to Hendersonville seven years ago. She was the daughter of the late Grady and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Phillips Parris, and the wife of the late James William Cody. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Banner Parris and Ernest Parris.
She graduated from Swain County High School, and was a former employee with Belk in the Asheville Mall.
She is survived by her son, Randy Cody and his wife Jill of Hendersonville; one grandson, Zac Cody and his wife Samantha of Fletcher; one great-granddaughter, Alaina Cody of Fletcher; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 2:00pm Friday, September 25, 2015 at Mason Branch Cemetery in the Alarka Community of Bryson City. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.
