Lee Roy Pilcher, 85, of Flat Rock, NC, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2020 at Charles George V. A. Medical Center in Asheville. A native of Lindale, Georgia, he lived in Henderson County since 1943. He was a son of the late Hirshel “Tut” and Annie Wilson Pilcher, and the husband of the late Julia M. Pilcher, who died in 1973. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Annie Bell Cash, Jewel Brewer, Ruth Daniel; and a brother, James Hirshel Pilcher. He was an Army veteran of WWII, and worked as an electrician with Lyda Electric for thirty-seven years. He was a member and deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Lee Pilcher and his wife Linda of East Flat Rock, Barry Lamar Pilcher of Flat Rock; a brother Thomas Edward Pilcher of Rome Georgia; three sisters, Myra Selman and her husband Johnnie, Mary Frances Lambrett, Mildred Louise Helms, all of Rome, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews; special friend, Ann Freeman; and special “little buddy”, Ryan.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2010, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Military honors will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post #77, Hedrick-Rhodes VFW Post #5206, and DAV Chapter 14.
