Lawrence A. Wynn, 86, of Hendersonville passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Mission Hospital. He was a son of the late Robert and Josephine Wynn, and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Margree Ellen Parker, and his brother Adrian Wynn.
Lawrence was an active member of the Hendersonville community since early childhood. He grew up in a farming community, attended school, and fought for freedom in the Korean War. He was adventuresome and raced motorcycles. Along with his wife, he traveled by RV or motorcycle through every state excepting Hawaii. He retired from Kimberly Clark. Lawrence was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-three years, June Wynn; four children, Gail Climer (Don) of Brevard, Kim Garrett (Jo Ann) of Hendersonville, Jean Edwards (Rick) of Los Lunas, NM, Joan Liles (Ron) of Brevard; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn Rice; three brothers, Ben, Raymond, and Clifford Wynn; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 13, 2015 in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Rick Edwards will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the service in the chapel.
