Kelly DeWitt Hill

June 6, 1980 - December 13, 2015

Kelly DeWitt Hill, 35, “Jim Kelly” to his cousins and “Uncle Jim” to Sydney and Mason, whom he tried to hang the moon for, took his heavenly promotion on Sunday, December 13, 2015. He was born with a rare medical condition known as Panhypopituitarism, which most do not survive past infancy, and complications of this disease took his life. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lincoln and Carrie Maybin; uncle, Ted and his wife Rebecca.

He was not one to ever talk about his medical condition, and he did not want others to as well. He wanted to be known for who he was and not his illness. Kelly was a very kind, gentle and caring person who found contentment and joy in the simple things life has to offer. He loved his family and always looked forward to spending time with any or all of them.

Kelly was a 1999 graduate of EHHS and was employed by Falling Creek Camp for many years, and was most recently with Inside/Out Educational Adventures. He loved the Carolina Tar Heels, video games, books, people, fishing and Dollywood.

He is survived by his parents, Edsel and Lugenia Hill of Dana, with whom he resided; sister, Amanda Cantrell and her family, Shawn, Sydney & Mason, all of whom he loved very much; paternal grandparents, Dewitt and Louise Hill; several aunts, uncles and their families.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, December 17, 2015 in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Reverends James and Joe Maybin officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in the Chapel of Forest Lawn.
