June 12, 1932 - March 11, 2011

Jean Audrey Goldman Godley, 78, of Hendersonville passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 at Elizabeth House surrounded by family and friends. Born in Austinville, AL, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Webster Goldman and Irma Bedingfield Goldman Hill, and the wife of the late William Hagood Godley who died in 2009. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and served with her husband as the first caretakers of Palmetto Bible Camp. She enjoyed watching birds, scrapbooking, cooking and making crafts.

Survivors include four sons, William Joseph Godley of Memphis, TN, Robert Clinton Godley of Blythewood, SC, Timothy Eugene Godley of Marietta, SC, Jonathan Andrew Godley of Nashville, TN; four sisters, JoAnn Goldman Simons, Betty Frances Goldman, Nancy Goldman Murray of St. George, SC, Martha Goldman Gibson of New Hartford, NY; nine grandchildren, Cristen Roberts, Emily Via, Anna Godley, Christopher and Benjamin Godley, Grant Godley, Ashleigh Marston, Keaton Godley; three great grandchildren, Graydon and Ensley Roberts, and Mida Godley.

A funeral will be at 11:00 am Monday at Hendersonville Church of Christ. Jerry Senn and Dr. Steve Teel will officiate. A private burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm today in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Bible Camp, 140 Fall Creek Road, Marietta, SC 29661, or Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
