James Richard Owen, 33, of Hendersonville, died in a tragic vehicle accident Monday, June 5, 2017. A native of Ann Arbor, MI, he had lived in Henderson County for 31 years. He was the son of James Owen and Judy Swensen.
James was a graduate of Fletcher Academy and Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN. He loved his work with his brother and father at E-Z Rolloff Containers, Inc. He was a member of Fletcher Seventh-day Adventist Church, an active Pathfinder Director, and he helped with the Fletcher Academy Gymnastics since 2007. He loved the outdoors and camping.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Robin Owen; son, James Michael Owen; daughter, Ruth Elizabeth Owen; brother, Jeffrey Owen and his wife, Leah; brother-in-law, Alan Heuss and his wife, Emily, niece, Hailey Heuss, and his mother and father-in-law, Karen and Michael Heuss, all of North Salem, IN; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00pm Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Fletcher Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastors Ivan Blake and James Reynaert officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fletcher Seventh-day Adventist Church Benevolent Fund, 1141 Howard Gap Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792 or Fletcher Academy, P.O. Box 5440, Fletcher, NC 28732.
