James R. Lewis, Jr, 88, of Hendersonville, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Elizabeth House.
Born in Rankin Co. Mississippi, he was a son of the late James “Reece” Lewis, Sr. and Maude McAllister Lewis.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and had worked as a General Contractor in FL. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Peggy C. Lewis; two daughters, Marilyn Lewis of Bradenton, FL and Carol Thornburg and her husband Al of PSL, FL; a sister, Kate Friend of TN and two grandchildren, Jason and Jaclyn Piano of PSL, FL.

Peggy, I am so sorry to hear about Jim. I enjoyed all the trips that we shared together traveling with Toney Tours. Jim always was such a humble and caring man. He will be missed by everyone.
