James Harold ìPeteî Taylor, 85, of Sugarloaf Mountain Community, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Elizabeth House.

A native of Saltville, VA, he was the son of the late Walter & Mary Taylor. James is also preceded in death by his wife Lola Diane Taylor who passed away this year. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict; and lived in Henderson County for the past 41 years. James retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 28 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

James is survived by three sons, Jeff Taylor and his wife Candace of Sapphire, NC, Andy Taylor and his wife Vicki of Odessa, TX, and John Taylor and his wife Lisa of Hendersonville; a sister, Margaret Helms of Abingdon, VA; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 24, 2014 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
