James Franklin Stilwell

June 3, 1935 - October 20, 2018

James Franklin Stilwell, Jr., 83 of Hendersonville, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Elizabeth House. Born and raised in Asheville, he was a son of the late James Franklin and Martha Hawkins Stilwell. He was also preceded in death by three children, Randy, Kimberly and Mark; and two brothers Gene and Jerry.

Jim was a US Army veteran and and avid woodworker. In 2000 he retired from WestRock in Cottonton, Alabama where he had lived for many years. He and his wife then moved to Hendersonville.

Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Cornelia Scoggins Stilwell; three children Terri Lynn Naber and husband Jeff, Charles Randall Giddings and wife Shirley, and Sharon Kaye Waynick and husband Andy; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Richard Stillwell and wife Vonita, Annette Reagan and husband George, and Johnny Stillwell and wife Yvonne; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Stillwell will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00pm prior to the service in the chapel and at other times will be at the home.
