Harold Raymond ""Shady" "Buzz"" Johnson

Harold “Shady” “Buzz” Raymond Johnson, 72, of Saluda was called peacefully home by the Lord on Thursday, November 05, 2015 at the Elizabeth House after a yearlong battle with cancer.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Saluda. He was a son of the late Grady and Louise Thompson Johnson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty McQueen Johnson.

He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and loved the Lord and his family. He was a painter, avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, and hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Brenda Thomas Johnson; one son, Tony Johnson and his wife Christina of Saluda; one daughter, Debbie Johnson Gill and her husband Hank of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Austin Lively and his wife Holly, Haley Lively, Logan Johnson, Kaleb Johnson, Jared Gill, and Matthew Gill; a brother, Jack W. Johnson and his wife Virginia of Dade City, FL, a sister, Harriett Johnson Crawford and her husband Frank of East Flat Rock; a niece, Lisa Crawford Ross and her husband Bill of Charleston, SC; and the entire Thomas family.

A funeral will be at 2:00pm Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Macedonia Baptist Church. The Revs. Justin White, Eddie Thomas, and Mr. Brentley Thomas will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2pm. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 942, Saluda, NC 28773 or Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
