Gladys ìJeanetteî Collins, 79, of Hendersonville, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Pardee Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Hazelhurst, GA, to the late John and Mattie Smith. She had lived in Henderson County since 1960 and was a retired nurse. She regularly attended Mud Creek Baptist Church and was a devout Christian. She was an excellent azalea and rhododendron gardener and an accomplished seamstress.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Keith Collins of Las Vegas, NV, Kenneth Glenn Collins of Hendersonville, and Gregory Floyd Collins of Fletcher; a daughter, Lana Collins Pace of Tuxedo; two brothers and three sisters; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010, at Forest Lawn Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Cory Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service in the chapel. Entombment will be private.
