George F. Sermersheim, Jr., 88 of Hendersonville died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Elizabeth House.

A native of Somerville, Indiana, he was the son of the late George & Lizzie Sermersheim. He is also preceded in death by: his wife, Betty L. Sermersheim who died in 2008; two brothers, L. Herschel & Gerald E. Sermersheim; and two sisters, Edith M. Emmons & M. Jean Dawson.

George graduated high school in Jackson, Mississippi and then served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946 during WWII. After his service he worked as a commercial printer for 43 years. George was of the Christian faith.

He is survived by: two sons, George D. Sermersheim and his wife Susan of Loveland, CO and Roger L. Sermersheim and his wife Nancy of Lodi, CA; a daughter, Rebecca Mashni and her husband Samuel of Dana, NC; a brother, Robert A. Sermersheim of Edmond, OK; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time. George will be inurned at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
