Franklin A. Capps, 79, of Hendersonville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday April 28, 2011.
He was a son of the late Webster and Lillie Capps. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Capps, Herbert Capps, and Lyman Capps and his beloved daughter Cynthia Styles.
He proudly served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Foreman/Supervisor with General Electric and retired in 1990. He was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Henderson Capps; his daughters, Theresa Bradley and her husband Jim of Wilmington, NC, Patricia Halsey and her husband Tom of Cleveland, OH and Sonya Creasman and her husband Tim of Mills River, NC; his grandchildren, Susan Stevenson and her husband Adam of Opelika, AL, Jessica Cagle and her husband Tommy of Belmont, NC, Brittney Styles of Greenville, SC , Ethan Creasman and Jacob Creasman both of Mills River; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Capps and three sisters, Doris Farnum, Betty Jo and Willie Jane Capps.
A funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Mud Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Graveside rites will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to a charity of choice.
