Fannie Summey Freeman, 87, of Edneyville, passed away Friday, October 23, 2009, at Elizabeth House. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late John L. and Vennie Worley Summey, and the wife of the late Clifford A. Freeman. She retired from Olin Corporation, and was a member of St. Paulís Episcopal Church. She loved gardening and baking, and arranged flowers at St. Paulís Episcopal Church for sixty years. She was a hard working wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include a son, Clifford Jerry Freeman and his wife Dianne of Union, SC; a daughter, Barbara Freeman Bohannon of Edneyville; a brother, Joe Summey of Hendersonville; a sister, Charlotte Johnson of Hendersonville; two grandsons, Tom Ashley Bohannon, Jacob Weaver Freeman; two great grandsons, Chase and Cameron Bohannon; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, at St. Paulís Episcopal Church. The Rev. Harriet Shands will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paulís Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 70, Edneyville, NC 29727.
