Douglas Werner Huth, 68, of Hendersonville passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Elizabeth House.  He was born July 27, 1950 in Kingston, NY to the late Werner and Darlene Huth.  Douglas is also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Huth.

Douglas lived for many years in Jacksonville, FL, where he raised his family and worked as a police officer.  He received his Doctorate in Criminal Justice and Politics, and was a professor at Greenville Technical Community College after moving to Hendersonville, NC.

Douglas was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was a lifelong reader who loved coffee dates with his family and being in nature. Douglas will always be remembered for his fearless sense of humor, and his ability to always bring a smile to anyone’s face.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Shane Huth, and Ray and Megan Huth and their mother Mary Stepp; granddaughter, Dakota Huth; significant other, Lori Leaver; and faithful dog, Lady.

A visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, April 5th from 5-7pm.  A Rosary will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 6th at St. Barnabas Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:30am.  Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville, NC.
