Dorothy “Dot” Sizemore Carter of Hendersonville, North Carolina went to rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior, on December 15, 2020 due to Alzheimer’s disease. A Henderson County native, she was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Sizemore and Lois Pettit Sizemore; brothers Troy, Kenneth, and Carlton Sizemore; and son Doug Carter.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Carter of 38 years. She is also survived by her daughter, Teresa Holbert Philpot and her husband David, son Dwayne Holbert and his wife Susan, son Tony Holbert and his wife Trish, son Matthew Carter and his wife Felicia, son Chris Carter and his wife Jessica, five grandchildren, Jessica Stepp Edney and her husband Justin, Caitlin Stepp Barry and her husband Patrick, Jacob Holbert and his wife Lori, Jackson Carter, Devin Carter, Kendole Crozier, Tori Carter, Breanna Carter, Marissa Mazzola, Nick Carter, one great-grandchild, Carter Lance Edney, sister Brenda Glover and her husband Eugene, brother Marion “Bo” Sizemore, sisters-in-law Evelyn Sizemore, Lois Sizemore, and Mary Sizemore, and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery presided by Reverend Joe Hayes. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Holbert, Tony Holbert, Jacob Holbert, Matthew Carter, Chris Carter, Jackson Carter, and Devin Carter.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all of Dot’s caregivers for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice in her memory.
