Deodata “Dottie” Teodoro Pacheco, 85, of Hendersonville, NC, passed on to be with the Lord on August 22nd. She will join her beloved husband, Procopio, parents and siblings, who preceded her in death.
Deodata was born in Warwick, Bermuda on May 14th, 1930. She later moved home to Portugul, where she met her husband and was married. She would mother a son, Paul, and a daughter, Margaret. Moving with her family to the United States in the late 1950’s, she resided in New York for many years before Florida and, finally, North Carolina.
Deodata was a devout Catholic, a fervent follower of Jesus Christ and passionate about her beliefs. The only thing she seemed to love as deeply was her family, to whom she was a strong, independent woman that never hesitated to stand up for what she believed in. She provided a sturdy foundation of love, trust and dependability.
Deodata is survived by her son, Paul, his wife Georgette, her daughter Margaret, grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews back home in Portugal. Her love and memory shall always remain in the hearts of her beloved family. She will be missed greatly, although there is comfort to be found in that she has returned to her beloved husband and the Lord whom she so strongly believed in. Her smile, laughter and warmth have forever impressed upon her family the value of life, the sweetness of its joys and the need to live to the fullest. Partings are always bittersweet, but Deodata has left behind a world of love for an eternity of Peace, love and joy. Her family is comforted knowing they will meet again in the sight of God.
Deodata sincerely hoped for any memorial donations to be made to Four Seasons Hospice whose respectful care and compassion helped so greatly during her final months. Deodata and her family are deeply thankful for their assistance in her final weeks and the dignified manner in which she was allowed to gracefully pass into the hands of God.
Memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
