Delma Marie Clontz, 78, of Etowah went home to be with the Lord Friday, November 27, 2015 at her home after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Henderson County, Delma was the daughter of the late Rev. Columbus Mathis and Lola Mathis. She was also preceded in death by her son, Columbus “Snuffy” Clontz and her brother, Nelson Clontz. Delma was employed by DuPont for twenty years and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Casty Clontz; two daughters, Darlene McCoppin and her husband Alex of Etowah, Sandra Orr and her husband Brian of Hendersonville; four grandchildren, Nicole McCoppin, Brandon Orr, Joshua and Stephanie Clontz; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Rev. Marvin Mathis and his wife Viola of Etowah; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 am Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Marvin Mathis officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
