Clarence "Ervin" Ball

December 18, 1940 - April 17, 2021

Clarence Ervin Ball, Sr., 80, of Hendersonville passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
As a native of Henderson County, he was born at Patton Memorial Hospital. He grew up and
attended school in Henderson County, including the Rosa Edwards School and the Ninth
Avenue School. He loved to spend time hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching sports on TV,
especially the Atlanta Braves. He also spent a lot of time over the years supporting his children
and grandchildren while they participated in sports, band, travel, and scouts. He loved to spend
time with his dog, Gracie.

Ervin worked at Community Cash as the produce manager for 34 years. Local kids remember
him giving safety lollipops as he weighed the family’s fruits and vegetables. He then moved to
Eaton where he worked as an electrician for 15 years. He retired to spend time with his wife and
family. After his wife passed, he returned to work at Coston Farms doing whatever was needed.
Ervin could repair what needed to be fixed, build anything, landscape, cook, and make things
grow. He often outworked people much younger and stronger than himself. He was happiest
when he could work hard and see what he had accomplished in a day’s time.

Ervin was the son of the late William Frank Ball and Ruby Myrtle King Ball Capps. He was
preceded in death by his loving wife Evelyn Ruth Camp Ball. Also preceding him in death are
brothers; Ronald, Donald, and Charlie Ball and his sister Susie Martin. He is survived by his
brother Henry Ball and wife Gladys and his sister Brenda Cairnes. Ervin was also preceded in
death by his wife’s parents, Bub and Eula Mae Camp as well as his brother in law, Ed Camp. He
is survived by Evelyn’s brother, Donald Camp.

Ervin and Evelyn are survived by their children, son Clarence Ball, Jr and his wife Francisca and
daughters Lisa Bargiol and Kathy Corn and husband Mark. He is the proud grandfather of Tasha
Hollis (Phillip), Jonathan Ball (Roxanne), Ashleigh Bargiol-McKinney (Mark), Eunice Landeros,
Claudia Landeros, Seth Corn, Rily Corn, Harmony Hollis, Henry Hollis, and Jackson Ball.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Caserio and his staff for their care and concern over
the last almost forty years but especially during the last few years of declining health.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to Boy Scout Troop 605 of Edneyville, 136
Casper Pointe Lane, Hendersonville, NC, 28792.
