Charles Edwin Adams, 79, of Hendersonville, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Elizabeth House. A native of Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late William Anthony and Annie Rochester Adams. He was a graduate of Travelers Rest High School and attended marketing classes at Blue Ridge Community College. He was an Air Force veteran. He retired following forty two years of service as meat market manager with Winn Dixie. He was a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Main Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost sixty years, Delree Terrell Adams of Hendersonville; two daughters, Gayle Adams Bell and her husband Ken of Charlotte, Sandra Cabrera of Napanoch, NY; a sister, Helen Adams Terrell of Pickens, SC; four grandchildren, Ken and Gavin Bell, Rachel and Geoffrey Cabrera; and numerous nieces and nephews who considered Charles their father figure.
A funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010, at Main Street Baptist Church. Dr. Victor Rampey and Rev. Andrew Webb will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service in the church.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Charley for years at the Four Seasons Winn Dixie. He was a good friend to me. May the Lord Jesus comfort your family during this time.
