BURTON SPENCER MOONEY, 60, of Tuxedo, died Wednesday, Sept 29, 2010, at the Elizabeth House. He was a native of Charlotte, but had lived in Tuxedo since 1985. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Livingston Mooney. He was an automotive technician, and had a knack for fixing anything. He loved motorcycles, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His children were his pride and joy. He was a member of the Hendersonville Elkís Club.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, B.J. Parsons; one daughter, Kristen Mooney; one son, Spencer Mooney; one sister, Mary Frances Robertson; one brother, Thomas Mooney; and three nieces.
A funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct 2, 2010, in the chapel of Forest Lawn Mortuary, with the Rev. Sherrill Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. in the chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
