Burt was so memorable in so many ways! I really enjoyed working with him, but our trip to Darlington one Friday night two years ago to watch a race gave us the chance just to bond, and I will forever hold that particular memory in my heart. Burt made a difference in my life, and not everyone I come in contact with is blessed to have that opportunity. My condolences to you, BJ, and to your family. Burt was a stand up guy! As his sponsor at the Elks Lodge, he will be particularly remembered by me at the Hour of Eleven. God speed, fellow Elk. "You have heard the tolling of eleven strokes. B.J. and Spencer: We were out of town last weekend and just heard the news of Burt's passing. We send our sympathy and prayers as the Lord guides you through this valley. We have many fond memories of Burt through our baseball years! God's peace.

I have memories of going over to the Mooney's house to play with the dogs, horses, puppies, and to raid their always full 'fridge. Throughout the years I have become very close to Spencer and he is one of the most genuine, caring, and fun-loving person I know. This reflects on the heart of Mr. Burton Mooney. You are in my prayers and thoughts and you are dearly missed. I will take a ride on the back of Spencer's bike in your honor.
