Ben Dean Walden stepped up to the plate for his final at bat on the morning of April 18, 2022. As his final home run sailed over the fence, he gained his heavenly wings. Ben was a man who loved many things. First and foremost, was his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His desire to share with others was evident in all that he did. From time spent with his family, friends, coaching various sports, singing with the quartet “One Accord,” gardening, as well as his interactions with anyone he encountered, he gave “110%” of who he was.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Denise Walden; four children- Matthew Walden (Michelle), Kyle Walden (Miranda), Allison Katona (Kyle), Garrett Walden, and bonus son Grant. Four granddaughters – Olivia, Heidi, Alanni, and Lillian and bonus grandson, Kayden. His Aunt Orlette Conley (Paul), brother Larry Hughes (Leslie) as well as numerous cousins and other family members.
Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at their home.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Pardee Home Health and Four Seasons Hospice for their diligent, compassionate, and persistent care of Ben Dean.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes monetary donations, live plants or garden seeds.

Ben and I worked at Cranston Print Works in Fletcher together for over 20 years. He always had a great sense of humor. He invited me to his church one night for a revival service and he let me sit with his family which I enjoyed. Ben taught me how to hit a softball farther but I never caught up with his distance. I know I'll see Ben in heaven some day and I'm looking forward to it. We'll be praying for the family that the Lord will comfort you and give you peace, May God bless you. . . .
