Arthur Lee ìJackî Jennette passed away peacefully, surrounded in person and in spirit by all those who loved him deeply, on the 14th of January 2011.
Jack was born August 24, 1922 in Calypso, NC, the son of Sally and Bill Jennette. From 1942-1946 Jack proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant. Jack also graduated from NC State University and dedicated 40 years to his career in the Claims Department of Aetna Casualty and Surety Co. Although moving a few times early on in his career, Jack and his wife Lucy decided to raise their daughters in Charlotte, NC, where Jack was active in his community and an avid softball manager. After retiring from Aetna, Jack learned horticulture and worked at Light Haven where he loved and cared for the grounds. Jack was also a dog lover and often volunteered at the local Humane Society. Jack was an avid traveler with his wife Lucy, and they loved taking trips together every year.
Jack is survived by his wife Lucy, of Hendersonville; three daughters, Jill Jennette, Kim Morris and Robin West, and their spouses; two grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
A memorial service for Jack will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011 at McFarland Funeral Chapel, 54 McFarland Drive, Tryon, NC 28782. Rev. Jill Jennette will officiate. A reception will immediately follow the service.

I'm sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I remember him fondly as well as his family who was part of the AEtna family! My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
