Alan D. Rudolph, 81, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 6, 2015 at Life Care Center of Hendersonville after an extended illness. A native of Queens, NY he lived in Henderson County since 2001. Alan was a son of the late John and Emma Bielitz Rudolph. He worked for Astrex Electronics, Inc. in Sales and service, retiring in 2000. Alan was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Hendersonville. He served with the Army during the Korean War. Alan enjoyed playing basketball with the church league in Queens, NY and was an avid bowler with the Riverwind League in Hendersonville.
Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-five years, Ellen Rudolph; a step-daughter, Heather Manazir and her husband Gregg of Fleming Island, FL; a step-son Jamie Barnard and his wife Adrianne of New Hyde Park, NY; a granddaughter, Taylor Barnard of New Hyde Park, NY; a brother, Warren Rudolph and his wife Bette of Waco, TX; a niece, Debra Piscacek and her husband Thomas of Waco, TX; a nephew, James Rudolph and his wife Lisa of Colorado Springs, CO; three great nephews, Brian Piscacek and his wife Michel, Jay Piscacek, and Walker Rudolph; two great nieces, Grace and Mary Rudolph; and one great-great nephew, Mason Piscacek.
A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Thursday in the First Church of the Nazarene in Hendersonville. Pastors Eddie Clayton and Joseph Quinn will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service in the church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post # 77, Hedrick-Rhodes VFW Post # 5206, and DAV Chapter 14.
